Product Details

This is a very fine old Broccoli which you will love planting and having for dinner or freezing it for later meals. It is excellent and it is also a fast producer and a busy producer which will help with your crops and food availability. You can plant them and expect to be eating them within about six weeks (45 Days), which means you can plant several plantings, and continue harvesting up to the winter freeze. Using Seal-a-Meals will help keep them frozen without freezer burn all winter long.

You harvest the center (largest) stem first and then will continue to harvest the side shoots which are smaller heads with young leaves, which are also delicious, for a very long time, increasing the quantity of your crop. You can plant them in August in the North and have crops before the first frost.

They are coming up with quaint words now - mainly “Food Insecurities” which actually mean Panic, due to the raise in the cost of food and the coming scarcity of meat and produce. So when looking for veggies and fruit look for those with the best nutrient rates, high production rates, and that mainly means the old Heirloom and Historic varieties. Choose varieties with early production - those that do not take very long to produce so that you can reap more than one crop per season.

A good example is the tomato because if you buy an Indeterminate tomato variety which will continue to set tomatoes and ripe fruit throughout the growing season until frost kills the plants. They will give you a slow and steady supply of tomatoes, rather than one large harvest only of the Determinate. The Determinate is a much larger plant and some times called a vining tomato. But you are getting a much larger, first flush heavy crop all at once.
